I have a PDF with a watermark that was added to it in Acrobat 6. We set the transparency to 5%. It is then reduced for file size and saved as an Acrobat 5-compatible document. Weekly, we send this file to about 100 people with either Reader 5 or 6, but two people have the watermark appear as black and it prints as black. They are both using Acrobat 5.1. Is there a setting in Reader 5 or Acrobat 6 that can be changed so that the watermark appears transparent?  -- Chris

Try updating your printer driver. I had the same problem once in a while when printing a PDF page. A black box would appear where a heading or some special text was supposed to be. I just had to update my printer driver and it solved my problem with printing. – Gary
