Review: This popular software from VoyagerSoft allows users to convert from PDF to Word and back again.At 16.6MBs, VoyagerSoft's Solid ConverterPDF is a hefty little utility to download. And sorry, it's only supported by Windows.
But, if you can get past these quirks, the software is easy to learn and use, and does exactly what it claims.
When installing the software, you can choose to install Microsoft Word add-ins that allow you to open and create PDF files from within Word.

There's also an Install Explorer add-in that allows you to convert PDF files from within Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer.
On launch, the program prompts you to select a PDF that you want to convert to Word. Then, you choose from five reconstruction methods, specify how images are handled and enable character spacing.
All the options are presented in an attractive wizard format, explaining exactly what each option means.
Complex PDF conversions may result in a few layout errors, but nothing too extensive.
And, let's face it, most PDF to Word conversion programs have similar (and worse) problems.
The biggest drawback: The trial version only allows you to convert 10 percent of a PDF-to-Word conversion at one time, with a 10-page maximum.

The software does offer the ability to specify a page range for each conversion, so you can restart and specify a different page range. There's no limit on converting Word to PDF.
The trial version runs for 15 days before insisting you input a license number.
