Publishing sensitive information? MaskIt helps you to redact sections of your PDF documents.

Mapsoft's MaskIt is an Acrobat-plug in that enables you to redact specific areas of a PDF so that those sections do not appear in print or through viewing.

The masks can be defined to mask all content outside a defined section, or inside a section just covering up a specific image, graphic of logo. Any content that is masked will not be viewable or printable.

Users can specify the page ranges and page spread of where the masks would apply and the configurations can be saved and applied to later PDF document files.

The tool is priced at under $70 and is fully compatible with versions 5 and 6 of Acrobat, as well as the latest Acrobat version 7.0.5, and can be purchased on the company Web site here . The company also offers a trial version for download online.
