The suite enables graphic designers to consolidate workflow steps.

Triple Triangle has released Mechanical Cubed, a suite of InDesign plug-ins that automate the creation of advertising mechanicals, thereby saving time for graphic designers. Mechanical Cubed is used by graphic studios at advertising agencies and corporate marketing departments, the company said in a news release.

"We were approached by several of our customers at advertising agencies who wanted a one-stop solution for creating and modifying advertising mechanicals in InDesign," said Chris Jones, president of Seattle-based Triple Triangle Inc. "We created Mechanical Cubed, a modular framework that seamlessly integrates our successful Slug Cubed maintenance tool and two new tools, Crop Cubed and Job Spec Cubed, to provide a seamless, integrated interface for creating mechanicals."

Mechanical Cubed lets graphic designers choose from the suite of tools that automate the workflow steps involved with mechanical creation. The suite comprises three tools: Slug Cubed, Crop Cubed and Job Spec Cubed.

The Mechanical Cubed suite integrates these three tools, letting studio artists create and modify a mechanical setup in a single step. In addition, according to the company, the latest addition to the suite, Job Spec Cubed, allows mechanicals to be created from a simple PDF Job Specification form, or automatically from a front-end job management system such as a FileMaker database.

Mechanical Cubed is supported on Adobe InDesign CS on Macintosh OS X.

Slug Cubed, Crop Cubed and Job Spec Cubed are available immediately for purchase from Triple Triangle's Web site, the company said. Users also can download a fully functional trial from the Triple Triangle Web site.

Slug Cubed, Crop Cubed and Job Spec Cubed are priced at $199, $79 and $129 respectively per seat.
