What?s the best way to split a multi-page PDF so people can view it a page at a time? Our graphics department creates brochures in an 11? x
17? (printed both sides) format through a PageMaker program. Often these are
more than six facing pages. Recipients complain that they want to view the
brochure pages in a consecutive manner (page one, page two, page three, etc.).
Is there a way to ?cut? the pages into 8 1/2? by 11? sizes for viewing as a PDF
without physically cutting the pages and scanning each page resulting in a
page-by-page PDF? --Andrea R.

The easiest way to do this is to have your graphics department save the
1-up file as a PDF before they convert it into an 11x17 booklet in PageMaker. If
that is not possible, then you can use several plug-ins to do this, including
PDF Enhancer or Quite Imposing.
If you only have a small number of pages and don't
have to do this a lot, you could also do it manually. First you would open the
original file, crop to 8.5 x 11 on the left side and save the file with the name
"Left". Then you would open the original file and crop the right side and save
the file calling it "Right." Then you would open "Right" and import "Left" and
reorder the pages using the thumbnail option. You would soon learn, however, the
value of having plug-ins, especially if you do this often! --KC Jones
