Quark and RGB vs. CMYK colors

PDF Version

I have a Quark file with RGB pictures in it, but when I convert to PDF, it changes them to CMYK. What am I doing wrong?

I have a Quark 4 file with some pictures in it. One of the pictures I know is RGB. When I convert it to PDF and check the PDF through Markware FC and Enfocus PitStop, the image is now CMYK. I have put the Quark file through, Acro 5 and Acro 6.0.1 using the correct distiller PPD. How can I stop this change from happening? –Bill

Quark XPress separates every color to CMYK during printing except colors in EPS files. This means TIFF, JPEG and PICT files that are RGB will be separated to CMYK. –Peter
