Why do PDF forms print fine on a printer but generate errors when posted on the Web?
I have created a form using MS Publisher and printed it
to the Adobe Distiller (Acrobat version 5). When I open the PDF file on my
machine, it prints out fine. When I e-mail it as an attachment to others, it is
also fine. When I post it on the website, however, I get a message that says
"Unable to extract the embedded font ‘DJGLKG+TimesNewRoman, Bold.’ Some
characters may not display or print correctly." When I click on the "OK" button,
the form comes up on my screen looking fine. When I print it out, however,
several letters display as boxes. What can I do? – Carl

Save the file as Acrobat 4-compatible (PDF version 1.3)
and try again. Also, make sure you have the Acrobat 5.05 update installed. Or,
better yet, purchase the upgrade to Acrobat 6.x pro for $149.00. –Rich

If you’re using FTP when you move the PDF to your web
server, be sure to use BINARY mode, as opposed to TEXT.
