I need to print a pre-formatted report (in pdf). I have to invoke the printing from Java, hence, I would need some mechanism to print a pdf from the command prompt. (I tried creating a prn file from the acrobat reader, but still had to open the same and give a print command to redirect it to a file.) Is there a way to do this? – Seena

PDF-Multi-Print  will batch print PDF files and will respond to command line instruction (it also has a graphical interface as an option). Another option is PDF-SuperTool, which may be more than you need. It also has batch "silent" printing - responds to command line instruction - and has 30 other automation tools built in. --Steve Harris
