This example provides a document conversion portal for over 280+ document formats, using activePDF DocConverter with activePDF Server as a scalable server-side conversion module. It also employs a free component that enables users to upload documents from the client to the server.

This example demonstrates:

  • The implementation of DocConverter as a centralized PDF creation module.
  • Use of HTTP to transfer files to DocConverter.
  • "Pushing" a PDF to the client to enable the saving of PDFs locally without requiring the full version of Adobe® Acrobat®.
  • Redirecting a PDF to a client browser.

* Source code for this example available here

Download the ZIP file from the above link, extract to a new directory, and then double-click the Setup.vbs file. View readme.txt for details of the installation.

* Free trial versions of activePDF Server and DocConverter are available for download here (required in order to test this example).
