Xitron Partners with Enfocus for XiFlow RIP Manager

San Mateo, Calif.-based Xitron announced the release of XiFlow 2.5, which now incorporates Enfocus Software's PDF Library solution, PitStop Library, for furthering prepress PDF-based creation, editing and preflight workflow.

XiFlow 2.5 is available now, and the companies are running a promotional program to highlight the solution's release. Until Dec. 31, Xitron customers who purchase XiFlow 2.5 will also receive a free copy of Enfocus' Instant PDF software, normally priced at $199.

Enfocus Instant PDF is a plug-in for Adobe Acrobat that enables users to create PDFs within their existing software applications.

Fujitsu Offers ABBYY FineReader With Latest ScanSnap Release

San Jose, Calif.-based Fujitsu Computer Products of America Inc. is offering the ABBYY Fine Reader software solution free to customers who purchase a Fujitsu ScanSnap fi-511EOX2 scanner between July 1 and Sept. 30. Customers will also receive a $50 rebate off the Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner purchase.

The ABBYY FineReader optical character recognition modules were developed to work in tandem with the Fujitsu ScanSnap solution and let users automatically convert scanned documents into editable Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files.

The Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner is priced at $495 and can be purchased through the Fujitsu Web site, mail order catalogs, and Fujitsu authorized resellers.

ARTS PDF Releases ARTS PDF Crackerjack 5.1

Pleasanton, Calif.-based ARTS PDF, which is a subsidiary of BinaryThing Pty. Ltd., has released ARTS PDF Crackerjack 5.1, its updated plug-in for print professionals.

The latest release gives users new imposition capabilities, conversion for RGB and CMYK document colors to spot colors, the ability to verify Enfocus Certified PDFs, and boosted image correction power.

In addition, the solution provides more accurate separations previews, according to the company, as well as offering hot folder features to automate repetitive workflow.

The latest release is compatible with Acrobat 5.0, 6.0 and 7.0 and runs on both Mac and Windows operating platforms.

With a promotional 20 percent discount available from Aug. 8 through Aug. 15, Crackerjack is priced at $399. The product will then be available for $495.

Upgrades are free for Version 5.0 customers. Owners of ARTS PDF Crackerjack 4.0 can upgrade for $199.
