CutePDF Updates PDF Creator
CutePDF has updated its free version of its PDF creation software CutePDF Writer 2.4, improving compatibility with Microsoft Windows, including adding foreign language versions and compatibility with other PS2PDF applications.
With the update, the latest version detects the installation of Ghostscript on a system but does not include Ghostscript in the download installation.

Big Faceless Organization Releases PDF Library 2.6
Big Faceless Organization has updated its Big Faceless PDF Java class library for reading and writing PDF documents.
The PDF Library 2.6 release includes improved handling for embedded files in documents, boosted color rendering and handling features and fixes to JavaScript actions using UTF-8 characters.
The pricing for version 2.6 runs at $850 and the company also offers a free demo download here.
Advanced PDF Repair 1.0 Debuts
PDF Repair Inc. has released Advanced PDF Repair 1.0, a PDF recovery tool for Windows-based operating systems.
Advanced PDF Repair 1.0 supports all versions of Acrobat PDF files and can recover both pages and images in PDF documents, repair PDF file format errors, and repair PDF files that do not comply with the PDF specification.
In addition, the PDF recovery tool offers support for repairing PDF files on corrupted media, including floppy disks, Zip disks and CD-ROMs, and can repair PDF files in batch mode as well.
The tool is priced at $299.95 and is also available as a free trial download at the company's Web site here.
