I have a PDF file that someone made from an MS Word document which is no longer with us (deleted or never saved). How can the PDF file be converted back to a Word document (or text file) that can be edited and added to? – John Knowles

Have you checked out PDF Converter by Scansoft? I think it does just what you are asking for. –Dimitri

Have you tried saving out of Acrobat as "Rich Text Format"? You might try doing this, then open in a text editor and then try copying and pasting back into Microsoft Word. Another option is once the PDF is saved as RTF, just try to open as is in Microsoft Word. Not the best solution, but one that should keep you from totally retyping. --Clifford Scott
