AutoCAD-PDF linking utility offers flotilla of new features, including a batch-processing capability.

Just as Bentley Systems and Adobe announce that PDF will be making substantial new inroads into the architecture, engineering and construction fields, Bluebeam chimed in last week with the release of Pushbutton PDF Version 2.2, a program that helps AutoCAD users crank out PDFs of their drawings.

"Version 2.2 further defines Bluebeam as the trusted standard in PDF technology for the architecture and engineering industries," says Richard L. Lee, president and CEO of Bluebeam Software. "Our company worked closely with several top A&E firms to develop a batch PDF solution that was powerful enough to convert thousands of AutoCAD drawings to PDF, yet was easy to use."

In addition to the new batch-processing feature, users now have the ability to define customized PDF page sizes of their CAD files. Version 2.2 also supports many new ISO and ANSI page sizes, including the B0-B4 and C0-C4 page sizes, as well as formats for bind page sizes developed to simplify sets produced by a company's reprographer.
