The Aerialist Professional plug-in creates a "watched folder" in which PDFs are processed automatically with a sequence of designated tasks.ARTS PDF has released the Mac version of its ARTS PDF Aerialist Professional plug-in for PDF document control, with new functionality and advanced workflow automation tools. This release follows the launch of a Windows version earlier this month.
"What's going to excite power users in a big way is that Aerialist Professional comes based around its own watched-folder processing enginethe only one of its kind," said Sean Stewart, senior product manager for the Pleasanton, Ca.-based subsidiary of BinaryThing Pty. Ltd.
"Using the watched folder tool, a user creates the sequence of tasks to perform and designates the folder for processing, and when the PDF documents hit the folder, they're processed automatically," Stewart said.

The automatic keyword linking feature in the plug-in enables users to turn every occurrence of a word or phrase in a PDF into an active hyperlink with a single step.
On the image management side, the plug-in adds advanced layering and image editing tools, allowing users to control color space, resolution, sizing and location orientation of images, according to the company Web site.
ARTS PDF Aerialist Professional is compatible with Acrobat 5, 6 and 7, and is available immediately. The product is priced at $699 per license and can be purchased online at PDF Store.
