Toronto-based Xenos Group Inc. announced Tuesday that it has released the latest version of its InfoWeb data management solution. According to Xenos, the new version, InfoWeb 5.1, provides its users with a plethora of new features and improved integration capabilities to administer a wide variety of document formats within a range of enterprise-level environments.
The release also is notable in that it simplifies the processes organizations must go through to be in compliance with new requirements for electronic and physical records.
"As organizations strive to achieve compliance with regulatory legislation such as Sarbanes-Oxley and Graham-Leach-Bliley, they are focusing on trustworthy solutions for process management and document management. The new enhanced logging features of Xenos InfoWeb 5.1 further enable regulatory compliance by securing data accessibility," Lee Garrison, vice president of marketing at Xenos, said in a statement.
Intelligent Print Stream, or IPS, an extended data format protocol designed to capture such data formats as PDF, ASCII, AFP, Metacode and PCL, is one of the features being touted in the new version of InfoWeb. A complementary processwhat Xenos refers to as "Expanded Content Delivery Options"works with IPS to index and distribute data through a variety of avenues, including e-mail, fax, Web portal, Web browser or FTP.

In addition, InfoWeb 5.1 offers Web-based administration that gives specific users, be they individuals, groups or departments, control over information delivery, which facilitates improved security and regulatory compliance over mission-critical data; Web Portal Integration, which enables users to exchange and report data through corporate intranets and Web portals; Optimized & Tunable Performance, which grants users immediate access to important data through multithreading and delivery linearization; and Advanced Indexing and Search Functions, which finds targeted information through enhanced keyword and index search inquiries.
