WindJack Solutions on April 17 announced a major update of its Acrobat plug-in for PDF analysis and manipulation, PDF CanOpener.

The new version of PDF CanOpener, version 2.0, allows users to inspect PDF data visually by hovering their cursor over objects in the document.

The user can then paste that data directly into a comment field so it can be shared with other users.

PDF CanOpener 2.0 "offers a wide audience of PDF developers and creators an easy way to see inside their PDFs and gain instant access to commonly needed information," said Thom Parker, President of WindJack Solutions.

PDF CanOpener 2.0 also includes the ability to click-navigate through overlapping objects and simple font embedding.

PDF developers can use their choice of text and hex editors for advanced editing and manipulation.

PDF CanOpener 2.0 requires Adobe Acrobat 5, 6 or 7 and runs on Windows 2000, XP and NT4. Single user licenses are $195.
