Siebel unveiled a new offline analytics package aimed at giving remote pharmaceutical salesforces better insight into what works and what doesn’t when they are pitching their wares to busy physicians.

The new package, called Siebel Pharma Field Analytics, is one of the first vertical applications for the company’s new Siebel Analytics 7.7 offering. It provides remote pharmaceutical salespeople with access to Analytics 7.7 analysis tools, providing them with far more detailed reports and information than was previously available via Siebel’s salesforce automation software.

For example, it now lets them track physician prescription trends and view overall sales call effectiveness, Siebel said. Previously, they could access only transactional data such as the number of prescriptions a given physician wrote in a month.

"With Siebel Pharma Field Analytics, companies can deliver real-time customer insight to their sales forces," said Steve Andrade, vice president and general manager of Siebel Life Sciences. "Siebel Pharma Field Analytics offers the rich business intelligence support pharmaceutical companies need to leverage their customer relationship management initiatives and remain competitive."
