The new release offers enhanced integration with Mac OS X and improvements to the document conversion process.

Recosoft Corp., a developer of cross-platform Macintosh and Windows file format conversion solutions, has released a new version of PDF2Office Professional that offers enhanced integration with Mac OS X and improvements in the conversion process.

PDFOffice 2.1 allows users to automatically recreate the original construction and layout of a document, including: forming paragraphs, applying styles, regrouping independent graphic elements, image extraction, table creation, headers/footers, endnotes/footnotes and columns/sections.

This new release from Osaka, Japan-based Recosoft also enables the recovery of data stored in PDF documents. PDF2Office 2.1 is a standalone product and does not require additional installation of PDF editing software and tools.

According to Recosoft, the key additions in this version include:

  • PDF2Office Services, a new systemwide service that allows applications such as Keynote, Pages and TextEdit, which support the Services menu, to directly open a PDF document and recover the entire text content from the file.
  • PDF2Office Contextual menu plug-in, which can open PDF documents directly in Microsoft Word from the desktop.
  • PDF Conversion, which offers additional support for rotated images and proper coloration of CMYK JPEG images.
  • RTF and AppleWorks Conversions that ease conversion to those formats.

Current users of PDF2Office v2.0 Professional Edition can receive a free upgrade via the Recosoft Web site update page.

PDF2Office Professional Version 2.1 is available for purchase with a single license at $129 and upgrade license (for customers with v1.x licenses) for $59.
