New product replaces the 'Classic' Image to PDF Converter, offering new features and improved performance.Never given to resting on its laurels, PDF programming technology company PDF Tools AG has released its latest PDF conversion tool, the 3-Heights Image to PDF Converter.
This new product replaces the current "classic" Image to PDF Converter and offers several new features, including automatic compression based on image type, image centering, and image and page scaling. The new converter supports a wider range of image formats and offers improved performance, especially when converting JPEG to PDF.
The 3-Heights Image to PDF Converter is available as a library that can be used via COM API to support VB, .NET, Delphi, and C applications, and as a command line tool. There are also interfaces for Java and C.
"PDF Tools provides server-based software products designed specifically for developers, integrators, consultants, customizing specialists and IT departments. Over 2,000 companies use PDF Tools AG's products," the company says on its Web site.
In January, the company issued its New Year's Resolution list of products slated to debut in early 2005, and the 3-Heights Image to PDF Converter was among the highlights of the list. Other products still to be released are:
* 3-Heights PDF Viewer Proupdated to display BMP, GIF, PBM, PNG and JPEG200 in addition to the already supported PDF, TIFF and JPEG formats.
* 3-Heights PDF Viewer and Viewer Prowill soon support transparency, anti-aliasing for graphics and continuous mode view as well as offer support for Windows 98.
* 3-Heights PDF Optimization Toolalso in process; can optimize images, remove duplicate or obsolete objects, and remove and replace embedded fonts in a PDF document.
The company also noted in January that it was working on Desktop and Client Run-Time version of the 3-Heights PDF Repair Tool. The aforementioned versions will be less expensive and targeted more toward the single-user market.
