Yesmail and Accela Communications’ on-demand Webcast explains the new anti-spam legislation and helps marketers deal with its implications.
InfoUSA’s Yesmail division and Accela
Communications announced the immediate availability of an on-demand Webcast
aimed at helping e-mail marketers understand and work with the new CAN-SPAM
legislation.
The Federal CAN-SPAM Act was signed
into law and became effective Jan. 1. It preempts many provisions of existing
state anti-spam laws, including the opt-in provisions California SB 186.
The Webcast is led by Steve Koenig,
Yesmail’s vice president of client services, and Jennifer Archie, a partner in
the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins LLP, who has represented
major ISPs and others on litigation and public policy matters related to
unsolicited bulk electronic mail, or spam.
Together, Archie and Koenig highlight
important details and implications about the CAN-SPAM act, including:
* How CAN-SPAM could impact your e-mail
marketing program and what you need to do to be compliant.
* How the CAN-SPAM law pre-empts state
laws.
* The implication of anti-spam
legislation on acquisition, retention, affiliate, and co-branded e-mail
marketing activities.
* What best practices e-mail marketers
should follow to be compliant.
