Help on finding the form tool and turning on shortcuts when using Acrobat 6.

Where is the Form tool in Acrobat 6? I am trying to modify a form that I have used through several versions of Acrobat. But "F" no longer takes me to the Form tool, and "H" no longer takes me to the Hand tool. Any advice? – Jane Edwards

Go to TOOLS > ADVANCED EDITING > FORMS. You have the option of adding either the ADVANCED EDITING toolbar or the FORMS toolbar to your document (see the last choice on either of those screens). It's hard to find where the forms stuff is at, but once you display the toolbars it's really slick. The select object tool (ADVANCED FORMATTING) is used to choose the field you want to modify. – Rich Sprague

The Form tool as we know has been abandoned. There is now a Field tool which is subdivided into tools for the individual field types. And there is the Object Selection tool, which allows you to see and select fields and links alike. The keyboard shortcuts are still all there, but someone decided to set the factory default setting to "deactivated". Go to the Preferences --> General tab and check the "Use single-key accelerators to access tools" option. Et voilà, the keyboard shortcuts are back. – Max Wyss
