VoyagerSoft Improves Font Data Recognition in Solid Converter PDF
VoyagerSoft LLC, of Redmond, Wash., this week announced that it has upgraded its Solid Converter PDF document utility software with improved font data recognition and formatting composition tools.
Solid Converter PDF 2.2.145.2, which offers PDF to Word conversion capabilities, also addressed minor bug fixes and additional font conversion capability, as it now includes 1- and 2-bit font data recognition for PDF files.
In addition, the latest release offers boosted accuracy for converting margins, tables and improved image conversion, a company spokesperson said.
Solid Converter is available for a free 15-day trial; after the trial period it can be purchased for $49.95.

ebrary Updates PDF Reader
ebrary Inc., a Palo Alto, Calif., technology enterprise software content solution provider, has updated its ebrary Reader software application for converting static PDF files into research-ready documents.
The ebrary Reader is part of the ebrary Dynamic Content Platform, which holds more than 60,000 full-text books and documents encompassing content from more than 600 libraries in 62 countries, according to the company.
The ebrary Reader now features the addition of four different citation styles, advanced searching capability using InfoTools feature, and scale-to-width document viewing.

Synergis Software Ships Synergis Adept 6
Synergis Software Inc., an independent division of Synergis Technlogies Inc., of Quakertown, Pa., on Monday released version 6.0 of Synergis Adept, its engineering document management solution.
The company said the new version includes more than 60 enhancements to the application, including SQL database support for MySQL Classic 4.1, Oracle 9i and MS SQL.
In addition to offering a boosted workflow engine, Synergis Adept 6.0 features improved audit trail capabilities, an easier user interface and boosted security and rights management tools.
Synergis Adept 6 is $1095 per concurrent license; an annual subscription is $219 per concurrent license.

SDL International Unveils SDLAuthorAssistant 2005
SDL International, of Maidenhead, England, last week announced the release of SDLAuthorAssistant 2005, its global content translation and authoring application.
SDLAuthorAssistant enables global content comparison with translated content and terminology glossaries. It is compatible with Adobe FrameMaker, Arbortext Epic, Blast Radius XMetal and Microsoft Word.
