Updated word processor edits text in PDFs ... PDF Bookmarks 2.2 released ... PDF Security ActiveX targets PDF password protection.

Today's digest includes three PDF utility programs targeted at word processing, the creation of bookmarks and boosting password-protection power in PDFs.

Updated Word Processor Edits Text in PDFs

United Kingdom-based Iceni Technology Ltd. on Wednesday released Infix PDF Editor v.1.1, its word processor for editing text in PDF documents.

The Windows-based Infix PDF Editor v1.1 is available for a free trial, and after the trial period it can be purchased for $99.

PDF Bookmarks 2.2 Released

Earlier this week, SkySof Software Inc. a Morrisville, N.C.-based PDF solutions company, released PDF Bookmarks 2.2, a utility for creating, editing and deleting bookmarks contained in PDF files.

Pricing for the product after a free trial is $149.95.

PDF Security ActiveX Targets PDF Password Protection

Guangming Software Inc. on Wednesday released PDF Security ActiveX v.2.0.2005.604, a PDF security shareware application with enhanced support for PDF user password and owner password protection.

In addition, the application enables encryption and decryption of PDF files, as well as password protection for PDF files with 40- or 128-bit decryption.

The product is priced at $99.
