A-PDF has released A-PDF Merger 2.3, its utility program for converting merging image files and Acrobat PDF files into a new PDF document.

The latest release adds support for page numbering and improvements to the user interface.

The software features drag-and-drop capability and lets users create an import list for multiple use of images and PDFs. The program also gives users bookmark merging capabilities.

The Windows-based program does not require Adobe Acrobat.

A single user license runs $27, and the software is available for purchase here.

Intelligent Converters has released PDF-to-HTML 1.1 with improved conversion algorithms.

PDF-to-HTML 1.1 converts Adobe PDF documents into HTML format while maintaining formatting and layout in the original document.

Users can batch convert HTML files, as well as extract text alignment and font information.

PDF-to-HTML 1.1 also supports conversion for images and drawings within a PDF and offers command line support. The program does not currently have optical character recognition capabilities.

The Windows-based utility does not require Adobe Acrobat or Reader.

PDF-to-HTML 1.1 is priced at $29 and is available for download on the company's Web site.

CambridgeDocs has released xDoc Server 2.02, giving users the ability to publish MS Word .doc files to PDF in a cross-platform environment.

The Java-based xDoc Server can be used by any J2EE application based server.

xDoc Server 2.02 does not require Microsoft Office or Adobe Acrobat or Distiller to be installed on the server.

The program also gives users the ability to merge Word files, import data from databases into document templates as well as publish in XML, HTML or Microsoft RTF files.

The software is available for evaluation by download from the company's Web site.
