Aloaha Releases Latest Aloaha PDF Saver
Germany-based Wrocklage Intermedia GmbH announced March 17 the release of the latest version of Aloaha PDF Saver. The software, which is available for about $49, allows you to add or edit text form fields of existing PDF documents. PDF Saver can also digitally sign PDFs. The new release incorporates Aloaha PDF Reader, and available only for Windows. You can download an evaluation copy from the Aloaha Web site.

CambridgeDocs Announces Version 2.01 of PDF-XML Converter
CambridgeDocs announced March 16 the release of Version 2.01 of its xDoc PDF-XML Converter and integration of it into its xDoc Converter Desktop and Server products. According to the company, once PDF content is converted to XML, that data can be indexed and searched by search engines or used in XML repositories or in content management applications.

The release also adds an improved user interface, called the TableDef interface, for extracting financial data using positioning and textual clues. You can download an evaluation version here.

Nuance Introduces PDF Edit! in Japan
Nuance Communications, Inc. announced March 16 the immediate availability of PDF Edit!, a PDF creation and editing application designed for the Japanese market. Software features include 40-bit and 128-bit encryption, automatic PDF-to-email, watermark and stamping ability, integration with Microsoft Office workflows and PDF form creation. Bamboo Solutions Releases Office to PDF Conversion Component for Microsoft Sharepoint
Bamboo Solutions released on March 10 the first of its Business Components for Microsoft SharePoint Technologies—the Office to PDF Conversion Business Component. The component allows you to schedule the automatic conversion of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and several other file formats to PDF, and then stores the converted PDF files in a separate "Shadow PDF Document Library."

The software costs $1500 and is used in conjunction with Microsoft Sharepoint technologies. A trial version can be downloaded from the Web site.
