Is there an easy way to auto-number a PDF document?

Is there a way to have Acrobat insert page numbers in document pages? Everything I try leads only to numbering pages in the thumbnails. I use Acrobat 5. ?Linda

I am not sure about Acrobat but Enfocus PitStop Pro can insert page numbers with an action. ?Kenton
