This week enterprise rights management solutions provider Authentica Inc. announced its advanced level partnership with IBM and rolled out its updated Secure Mail 4.0 and Secure Documents for PDF 4.0 solutions.

Secure Documents for PDF 4.0 boosts the level of security for PDFs, as well as adding support of Adobe Viewer 5.0 on Solaris 9 and 10. Secure Documents for PDF 4.0 features enhanced watermarking capabilities for increased protection against document fraud as well as document access permissions.

With Secure Documents for PDF 4.0 users can also prohibit printing of a document as well as disable copy/paste functions and prevent screen captures, according to the company.

"The advanced-level partnership with IBM was a natural next step for our company as we are deployed in an increasing number of Lotus Notes organizations, and we are seeing more Lotus Notes users among our prospect base," said Norm Meisner, vice-president of business development at Authentica.

Authentica's Secure Mail 4.0 has been integrated within the IBM Lotus Notes and Domino environment, according to the Lexington, Mass.-based company.
