The content integration application is aimed at meeting user demand for content repurposing and conversion.Percussion Software, based in Woburn, Mass., introduced version Lyrix 2.5, its Lotus Domino content integration solution, at this year's Lotus Advisor LIVE trade show held in Las Vegas.
Percussion Software Inc. spokesperson Susan Challenger said the release is aimed at making it easier for users to reuse Domino content by placing it in more common formats.
Lyrix 2.5 lets users convert Domino content to applications including Microsoft Word, Adobe PDF, xHTML and XML.
Challenger says this release meets a growing demand from companies using Lotus' content integration application, in that it lets users easily repurpose content.
"Increasingly, organizations want to reuse Domino content in other enterprise applications. Nearly all these applications easily accept Word and PDF, so we've made it very easy to put Domino documents and related items, into those formats, preserving the rich characteristics of Domino."
Challenger said Lyrix 2.5 is targeted at all users of Domino who need to repurpose existing content into applications including: document management solutions, records management and archiving solutions, Web sites, and contract management applications.
Lyrix 2.5 comes with an enhanced user interface to give users the ability to transform Domino content including embedded attachments and images, and extract and preserve all associated Domino metadata.
In addition, this release gives customers using Lyrix's Web services API real-time access to Domino content and the ability to bring the content from Domino into existing applications, for example a partner extranet, said Challenger.
Having this real-time access enables users to transform Domino attributes, including Rich Text, embedded images, document links and attachments, into standard XML and xHTML.
Challenger said Lyrix's next version release will be influenced significantly by customer feedback to version 2.5, but declined to comment on future plans for the product.
The release said Lyrix 2.5 will be available next month and that users can pre-register for the a copy of what the company terms "an evaluation version release" at the company Web site.
