The new version of the popular pre-press PDF creation tool works with Apple's "Tiger" OS, can output PDF/X compliant files and supports version 3 of the Ghent PDF Workgroup profiles.

Global Graphics Software Ltd. on Wednesday announced the availability of Jaws PDF Creator 4.0 for Macs. The latest version of the popular pre-press PDF creation tool supports PDF 1.5, the PDF specification used in Adobe Acrobat 6.

Jaws PDF Creator 4.0 for Macs also supports plug-ins that support the creation of files compliant with the PDF/X 1a and PDF/X 3 standards.

The software offers configurations necessary to create PDF files to match the GWG (Ghent PDF Workgroup) Version 2 (2004) and Version 3 (2005) profiles.

Jaws PDF Creator 4.0 will now run on Mac OS X 10.4, aka "Tiger."

The software is available for trial download or purchase.

The full software costs $84, but existing users can upgrade to 4.0 for $44.
