This server-based enterprise solution offers support for PDF 1.5 and full platform support for Citrix and Windows Terminal Services.

Global Graphics has released Jaws PDF Server 4.0, its server-based software solution that automates and manages PDF conversion and document workflow for en masse corporate file sharing.

The latest version provides upgraded Microsoft office macros, full support of Citrix and Windows Terminal Services, and an upgraded PDF-generation engine that supports PDF 1.5.

"Corporate users need support features that are in the PDF 1.5 specification, such as forms and signatures," said Nik Standbridge, Jaws PDF technology product manager. "Providing PDF 1.5 support was part of satisfying that requirement of giving corporate users the functionality that they use day to day."

Jaws PDF Server 4.0 offers tighter integration with Microsoft Office for Windows. Windows users can convert documents to the PDF format from most major file formats and retain the original's formatted graphics, fonts and colors.

In addition, Jaws PDF Server can be configured to optimize files for high-res printing, printing on desktop printers or web publishing, said Standbridge.

"As users consolidate other documents to then create larger documents in their Document Management System, these enhanced capabilities become very important for building PDF documents that have added value in terms of searching and finding relevant information and navigation capabilities," said Standbridge.

Global Graphics also removed the requirement to have a dongle for the operation of the product, replacing it with electronic licensing key capability as opposed to hardware based.

The company is also offering a self-contained downloadable evaluation version of the software.
