activePDF Releases PrimoPDF 2.0
Mission Viejo, Calif.-based activePDF has released Version 2.0 of PrimoPDF, its free PDF creator program.
The latest release offers users 128-bit encryption capabilities for saved PDFs, and users can add document information such as keywords, author and title to converted PDF files for easier search, according to the company.
PDFs can be created from files including MS Word, MS Excel and other popular applications. In addition, the software enables users to create PDFs optimized for print, screen, e-book or prepress output.
The fully functional free PDF creator is compatible with Windows operating systems and can be downloaded here.
SANFace Software Refreshes txt2pdf
SANFace Software has released Version 8.3 of its txt2pdf text conversion software, adding automatic conversion capabilities for strings with http://, ftp://, mailto:/ and https://.
The solution offers users the ability to convert old text files into PDFs without the need to pass the data through PostScript first, according to the company.
The company also recently added support for additional fonts and languages, including Greek, Hebrew, Polish, Chinese and Korean fonts.
In addition, users can edit and mark sentences in the newly created PDF files, add page numbers, and add text at the beginning and end of every file.
txt2pdf can be used alone or in conjunction with other applications to convert text documents. Users can download a trial version of the release here.
FileMaker Adds PDF Tools to Latest Release
Phoenix-based FileMaker Inc. has added significant PDF tools to the latest release of its desktop database application, FileMaker Pro 8.
The company's new PDF Maker included in the FileMaker Pro 8 release features the Adobe PDF Library licensed through Datalogics.
PDF Maker gives users the ability to convert data reports into PDFs for easy e-mailing to non-FileMaker users. PDF Maker can create print-ready PDFs as well.
